What Will You Do?
- Support the development and delivery of HR services, strategies, policies, and processes
- Provide professional human resource expertise, advice, and support to leaders on recruitment, employee and labor relations, human resources best practices, conflict resolution, performance management, and progressive discipline across multiple business units in union and non-union environments
- Support and prepare for collective bargaining through data analysis and research
- Responsible for disability management administration of STD and LTD claims
- Support all business and human resources change management initiatives, including but not limited to policy design and implementation, employee onboarding, employee life-cycle, retention and job fair strategies, job grant initiatives, performance reviews – job descriptions/succession, and compensation and benefit reviews
- Assist with investigations including root cause analysis and standardizing human resource procedures across the organization
- Administration and security of FOIP and other privacy inquiries
- Identify changes in industry practices and business trends and report on opportunities to improve service area deliverables including employee engagement and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) initiatives
- Support HR data management to ensure accuracy and confidentiality
- Support the learning and development curriculum and training sessions in alignment with the Human Resources department’s strategic plan and organizational needs
- Support Health & Safety claim’s management and employee inquiries
- Prepare reports, conduct research, and support special projects as required to continually strive to enhance the quality and efficiency of HR services and deliverables
What You Need to Succeed
Must Have
- Completion of a post-secondary program in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or Business Administration with a minimum of 5 – 7 years of progressive Human Resource experience, including a minimum of 3 years as a Human Resources Generalist, Advisor, or Business Partner, preferably in a union/non-union environment
- Proven experience in conflict resolution, performance management, investigations, and supporting human resources deliverables i.e., human resource manual and employee handbook, policies, onboarding, and surveys
- Strong influencing and verbal and written communication skills
- Proven experience delivering human resource presentations and best practices to a broad range of stakeholders
- A Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation or working toward
- Demonstrated ability to prepare clear and concise reports and analytics, to administer disability claims, apply for grants, and research for new and progressive employee engagement opportunities
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and other databases and spreadsheet applications
- A valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s license
Nice to Have
- Experience in a unionized environment, collective bargaining, strong understanding of OHS legislation and safety best practices, and familiarity with 3PL warehousing.

The Opportunity
MTE Logistix Group of Companies is looking for an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. Reporting to the Service Coordinator, this position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance for our clients. Excellent work ethic, and willingness to learn new things in a safe and efficient manner is a must.
- Ensure that all equipment is continually maintained at the highest standards, and in a timely manner, resulting in proper function and availability.
- Execute daily mechanical tasks in the shop, on the road or at customer location.
- Use diagnostic equipment to evaluate mechanical problems in equipment/vehicles.
- Perform routine equipment/vehicle maintenance and preventive care according to schedules.
- Rebuild, replace, or repair vehicles, equipment, and equipment parts.
- Evaluate and recommend repairs.
- Promote image and safety awareness; follow policies and procedures on quality, health, safety, and environment.
- Complete work orders as per SOP and discuss with Shop Manager and/or Service Coordinator repairs completed and other recommendations.
- Request all parts and supplies needed for equipment/vehicle repair through parts and service department.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and/or Shop Manager and create a solution to solve repair problems.
- Keep shop, service truck, equipment, and tools in safe operating condition.
- Assist in annual inventory of physical equipment/vehicles and parts and supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3 – 5 years of Heavy-Duty Mechanic experience
- Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic or Red Seal Commercial Transport
- High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED), or equivalent
- CVIP Certification is an asset.
- Capable of working independently, as well as, in a team environment
- Adept at efficiently and effectively working unsupervised.
- Capable of working in a physically demanding multi-tasking work environment
- Demonstrate high attention to detail, be extremely organized and can reliably document failures and repairs.
- Valid driver’s license (no GDL), reliable personal transportation
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of all relevant governing legislation and regulatory standards.
